Expanding ARLLS: A mission to develop future leaders
In January, the ARLLS team embarked on an impactful journey across Zambia, Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda alongside Ajay Sood, founder of Beacon Changemakers. Visiting 18 schools, both current Beacon partners and new potential collaborators, we explored how ARLLS can empower more young leaders. Schools expressed a growing need for leadership and employability skills, emphasising the importance of holistic student development.
Key insights from the trip highlighted the programme’s powerful impact on current ARLLS learners, the collaborative networks it fosters, and inspiring stories of growth that ARLLS has had a hand in contributing to. From school council leaders to sports captains, ARLLS is proving to be a game-changer, shaping ethical, confident leaders ready to make a positive impact. The mission to widen access continues; ARLLS is committed to partnering with more partners globally to nurture future changemakers.
Introducing the ARLLS Vision
At ARLLS, our vision for 2025 is simple but powerful: Empower more young leaders than ever before by fostering critical leadership skills, emotional intelligence, and collaboration strategies. Our mission remains centered on providing innovative leadership development experiences that are accessible, practical, and impactful for students at every stage of their journey.
This year, we’re expanding our offerings, enhancing our leadership modules, and deepening engagement with schools, universities, employers and our community (you!). Join us as we take leadership development to new heights.
Reflecting on a Recent Workshop
In January 2025, the ARLLS team were delighted to deliver our latest Leadership Development Module, Leading Effectively, for 2 cohorts of Beacon Changemakers Scholars. The learners were tasked with creating an Ideal Leader Avatar and the team was floored by their creative presentations. These activities simulate the kinds of tasks that learners encounter in the world of work and get them to confidently and concisely present ideas that they come up with in only 50 minutes!
The learners also grappled with intricate concepts like self-awareness, being vulnerable and dealing with your own and others’ emotions as an effective leader. The discussions that emerged from the workshop were remarkable, adding depth and meaning to the course content.
Vision 2025: Achieving Audacious Goals
