ARLLS and LSE invite international school students to University Readiness Masterclass

Earlier this week, Tosin Adebisi (LSE) and Mark Aberdour (ARLLS) spoke at the Learning Futures event about the development of the ARLLS youth leadership learning system and its joint delivery with the Programme for African Leadership at the London School of Economics to support international school students across Africa as they prepare for university.

Building on that collaboration, ARLLS and LSE are pleased to invite African international schools and their students to take part in a new ARLLS-LSE Emerging Leaders Masterclass during March 2026.

Emerging Leaders Masterclass: University Readiness and Resilience

This two-week online learning experience is designed specifically for African students in Years 12–13 who are studying in their home countries and preparing for the transition to university.

The masterclass focuses on the capabilities that schools and universities consistently identify as critical at this stage:

  • resilience under academic and personal pressure
  • sustained performance, energy and focus
  • confidence, judgement and independent learning habits
  • readiness for university-style learning and discussion

What the programme includes

Participants will take part in a blended experience that combines independent learning, live interaction and authentic university perspectives:

  • a tried-and-tested ARLLS online module on resilience and performance
  • a facilitated interactive Zoom workshop with African peers
  • a University Perspectives Panel featuring African student ambassadors from LSE
  • a digital certificate co-endorsed by ARLLS and the Programme for African Leadership, suitable for CVs and supporting university applications

This masterclass builds directly on leadership programmes already delivered by ARLLS with international schools, universities and NGOs, which have generated consistently strong learner feedback around confidence, voice, judgement and readiness for next steps.

How schools and students can take part

Schools may choose to:

  • share the programme link with individual students, who can enrol directly, or
  • register interest in bulk enrolling students as a group

Early bird pricing is available for individual student enrolments until Sunday 8 February 2026.

For schools interested in group enrolments, ARLLS will host a short webinar in the first week of February outlining the programme, learner benefits and practical arrangements. Early bird pricing will be extended to all webinar participants until the end of February.

If this opportunity sounds relevant for your students, please explore the enrolment options or contact the ARLLS team with any questions.
